Declomycin side affects
Nettle rush and drug eruption in the treatment of Declomycin are rather rare. Side effects often include dyspepsia, liver damage, dysbacteriosis, phototoxic reactions and onychosis (often without skin lesions). In addition, Declomycin can cause fixed drug eruption and rash, similar to lichen ruber planus. In case of long-term treatment folliculitis caused by gram-negative bacteria (rashes resemble acne vulgaris) is possible. The disease is caused by growth of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Declomycin can also cause dyschromia. Its use during pregnancy or in early childhood leads to discolouration of teeth in children, sometimes permanent.
Declomycin can also lead to influenza-like syndrome (headache, malaise, eosinophilia) that is recurrent at the reappointment of the drug.
Declomycin should be taken by mouth, as a rule 2-4 times per day. It is recommended to take Declomycin on an empty stomach that is 1 hour before or 2 hours after you have a meal. Each dose should be taken with a full glass of water. If patients who treat various infections with this drug notice that the symptoms vanish in a couple of days, they should go on taking Declomycin till they finish the full prescribed amount. If you stop taking the drug too early the infection may return. Those patients who take Declomycin to treat SIADH should observe an increment in the urinary output during five days.
