Side effects:
Tablets, powder for solution for injection:
The gastro-intestinal tract: nausea, vomiting, hyperbilirubinemia, elevated liver enzymes activity, impaired stool, pain in the epigastric region.
The central nervous system: headache, dizziness, disorientation in space, confusion, hallucinations, fatigue, impaired sleep and wakefulness. When exceeding the recommended doses of the drug, convulsions and coma may develop.
The blood formation system: leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia.
The kidneys and urinary system: acute renal failure, increase in the amount of urea and creatinine in blood.
Allergic reactions: itching, rash, urticaria, photosensitivity, anaphylactoid reactions, angioedema, shortness of breath.
In case the solution for injection gets under the skin severe local inflammatory reactions up to necrosis may develop.
Eye ointment:
Sometimes there were allergic reactions such as angioedema. Patients also reported such side effects as stinging, conjunctivitis, blepharitis. Cream:

Contraindications:
Individual hypersensitivity to the drug. Increased individual sensitivity to acyclovir and / or valacyclovir.
